I have only found in limited testing that a gameserver is removed in the loginserver's list of gameservers available.
Thought this was usually due to my testing.

Will look into it at some point

This happens a lot on Dragon's Den if there has been a fair amount of player activity.
Ie Players logging in and out. Restarting the Game Server fixes the problem but is a pain
if it's been down for hours whilst I was asleep or elsewhere.

hmmm, could you open pingrange.txt and add another 0 to the two numbers?
Think it's normally 40 and 50 it says. Try 400 and 500

Where is pingrange.txt ? I do not have that file on my computer.
It is not in the compile.

this problem appears with minimal pingrange (10-12), if pingrange ~ 400-500 the gameserver is more stable Shocked looks like the game doesn't have any message for overloaded server.

So what should be the format for pingrange.txt and should I have it in my server directory?
Thanks in advance

The game or loginserver (forgot which) creates it by itself.
Code:
400
500

Another hint would be helpful to track this bit of code down.
The haystack is to big and the needle is way too small!

I had a lot of that happening tonight as well and then I reset the Server totally and now it is fine.
Seems I need to reset the computer every day or so.
Could it be a buffer issue?

Our original KITO compile never had this issue but it had it's own problems.

Also is very tempermental when it comes to showing info on the screen.
Sometimes it does and then will seem to sleep or double display everything.

Code:
            case ID_CONNECTION_LOST:
               {
                  printf("ID_CONNECTION_LOST from %s\n", p->systemAddress.ToString());
                  //unregisterServer(p);
                  //endSession(p);
               }
               break;
I add this temp fix to MainServer code, server still works fine. I know that's not quite right, so can this "fix" create any problems for game?

It will mean that any "lost" client will remain open and keep getting sent packages.
This could mean that the server will get clogged up with clients that are never removed. Hmmm

I don't know what is causing it but the gameserver has been steadily getting worse.
Players are now complaining of "No Servers to Connect to" responses all the time.
I am resetting the server everyday to keep it all running.
Did not have this issue with my original server software.
I am steadily losing players due to frustration with the server.

You might want to add another 0 to pingrange.txt while I figure out why the game server doesn't ping the loginserver

add another 0 to pingrage does not solve this problem. gameserver successfully ping the loginserver, but loginserver loose the connection from it.

I meant so it says 4000 and 5000, meaning it has 5 seconds to respond

As mentioned before there is no Pingrange.txt file Redeye that you keep mentioning.
How should it be written and where should it go?

Hi Redeye,
Thanks that appears to have solved my problem.
I never had a Pingrange.txt file.
Thinking about the cause of this issue, I believe it was due to the periods of quiet time
on the server when one timezone had gone to bed and the next came on.
Previously there had been a fair degree of crossover as we were a new server.
Once people had decided to either stay with us or move on to other servers then we
started to experience a quiet period and our problem started.
