I've seen some servers with AMAZING map previews, only to go in-game and have only.. some maps meet that standard.
Whereas there would be a map that doesn't look like an IT server map at all, the next map.. is a great reduction in quality.

How important is this to you all? Does it sometimes stop you from downloading and trying a server when you see this?

Personally I've noticed I tend to stray away from servers with quality lapses.

Yep, for me it's important to have some quality in maps.
It makes more fun during role playing and the game looks a lot better.

Obey and I are slowly remaking the oIT maps on Dragon's Den but for nostalgia we have kept some of the originals. The problem we have is if we make the new maps too intense then players with slower computers will lag or crash in the new maps.

We are forever telling players with Celeron CPU's and minimal memory that just because they can play Feral Heart does not mean they can play Dragon's Den. They have no concept of what processing power and graphics are required to render a high res game. "Yes I know it's a brand new Windows 10 computer but you can't win a Formulae One Car Race in a billy cart."

Oh god, I know. I wish there was a fix for it. I'll run perfectly on maps with sparse trees and such, but once I get a map with trees covering the whole thing, and bushes, and all that I get lag.
It also reduces the map quality due to wanting to keep the lag down.

I can run skyrim with HD texture mods, but, I lag with a low graphic game from 2007. Ugh.
