 What should I use to create my own game?

Hey guys ! So yep here is it. I want to create my own game or specifically create gameS
Not a huge game just a medium or a little game for windows for a beginner like me.
I've been looking for some books and software to use to create a game.
But I need some suggestions or opinions of what I should be using or not since i'm beginning into this.
Right now I'm thinking of using

Blender or Maya 2014 (Modeling,Animating)
Unreal Engine 4 (Programming)
Photoshop CS6 (Texture)

But are there enough ? like I could create a game with Ogre or Python?
Or with another modeling program?

I would like to buy those two books to get started

I've been working on Blender since severals month, i'm able to model almost anything.
But it's not enough, I'm looking forward to a better program such as maya that I have on my laptop.


It's all of a sudden but it's been almost maybe 4 years i think? i'm on KITO and supporting servers, Creating textures,models,maps and I would like to do it all by myself without an original source such as IT.

So what do you think guys? are these two books good enough to get started ?
Should I do something else before creating a game by myself (atm a medium projects)
Let me know ! ^^ (not sure if it's in the right section, can be moved if needed)

Unity is a nice program to use, and of course Blender/Maya <3 I have been toying around with Unity for a bit.

SAI and GIMP are also common art programs, but I honestly feel PS is better to use due to the wider variety of brushes and tools. Blender also has a Game Render portion, but i'm unsure of exactly what it does. Haven't really played with it.

And heh, you could use C++ c; 'tis just another program.

Anywho, dis be all I have to offer.

If you want to stay in the Ogre World have a look at Skyline. They look really interesting as a game engine.

Would say Unity, you can begin easily with this and there's tons of premade cheap assets/scripts/whole games to 'drag and drop' to make your own game.

in comparison to programming an engine yourself that uses ogre for graphics and you for the game part there are benefits and disadvantages to all of the game engines out there that'll require your own personal research

note that you can spend quite a bit of money on assets and other script packages before ever getting started
