PostSubject: How to add IT markings   Mon Jul 27, 2015 9:25 pm

NOTE: This tutorial is ONLY for adding a body, tail, or head marking in your server. I won't be showing how to draw one. For this, check http://www.kitopen.com/t19-it-marking-tutorial?highlight=MARKING.

So, you've made your pretty marking and you want to add it in-game, but you don't want to replace an existing marking? Then follow those steps!

First of all, go to media>materials>scripts and open MagixMod2.MATERIAL
Spoiler:

Now, do CTRL+F and search for bodymark20 if you want a new body marking, headmark17_4 if you want a new head marking, or tailmark8 if you want a new tail marking.
I'm gonna search for tailmark8 because I want a new tail marking.

Spoiler:

Now just copy this code and change the # to 9 or higher

Code:
material TailMark#
{
 receive_shadows on
 technique 1
 {
 pass
 {
 fragment_program_ref TailMark_PS
 {
 param_named_auto colorMod1 custom 1
 param_named_auto colorMod2 custom 2
 param_named_auto colorMod3 custom 3
 }
 texture_unit
 {
 texture white.jpg
 tex_coord_set 0
 }
 texture_unit
 {
 texture tailMask1.png
 tex_coord_set 1
 }
 texture_unit
 {
 texture tailMark#.png
 tex_coord_set 2
 }
 }
 pass
 {
 ambient 1.000000 1.000000 1.000000 1.000000
 diffuse 1.000000 1.000000 1.000000 1.000000
 specular 0.010000 0.010000 0.010000 1.000000
 emissive 0.000000 0.000000 0.000000 1.000000
 depth_func equal
           scene_blend zero src_colour
 }
 }
 technique 2
 {
 pass
 {
 lighting off
 texture_unit
 {
 colour_op_ex source1 src_manual src_current 1 1 1 1
 }
 }
 pass
 {
 lighting off
 scene_blend alpha_blend
 depth_func equal
 texture_unit
 {
 texture tailMask1.png
 alpha_op_ex source1 src_texture src_texture
 colour_op_ex source2 src_texture src_texture
 }
 texture_unit
 {
 colour_op_ex blend_diffuse_alpha src_manual src_current 1 1 1 1
 }
 }
 pass
 {
 lighting off
 scene_blend alpha_blend
 depth_func equal
 texture_unit
 {
 texture tailMark#.png
 alpha_op_ex source1 src_texture src_texture
 colour_op_ex source2 src_texture src_texture
 }
 texture_unit
 {
 colour_op_ex blend_diffuse_alpha src_manual src_current 1 1 1 1
 }
 }
 pass
 {
 ambient 1.000000 1.000000 1.000000 1.000000
 diffuse 1.000000 1.000000 1.000000 1.000000
 specular 0.010000 0.010000 0.010000 1.000000
 emissive 0.000000 0.000000 0.000000 1.000000
 depth_func equal
           scene_blend zero src_colour
 }
 }
}

Once you're done changing the number just paste the code above 'material HeadMark11_1'.
Note: If you want a new head marking change tailMark to headMark and paste the code at the very end. If you want a new body marking change tailMark to bodyMark and paste the code above 'material TailMark7'.

When you're done with all of this save and exit notepad. You won't be needing that anymore.

Now the easiest part: Changing the gameconfig

Open your solution and open GameConfig.h, and scroll down until you see #define GMAX[...]
Code:
#define GMAXHEADS 6
#define GMAXMANES 25
#define GMAXTAILS 7
#define GMAXWINGS 4
#define GMAXTUFTS 12
#define GMAXBODYMARKS 21
#define GMAXHEADMARKS 18
#define GMAXTAILMARKS 9

And increase #define GMAXBODYMARKS/HEADMARKS/TAILMARKS by one (or the number of marking you want to add.) Just recompile the solution and BAM! New in-game marking C:

Hope that helped!
