PostSubject: Can't get the placement of item in blender correct *SOLVED*   Sun Jun 14, 2015 1:06 pm

I used the two different rigging tutorials and managed to successfully rig a banana I made - but I can't get the placement correct. Whenever I move something in edit mode, object mode it is in a different place. I've looked at all three tutorials for placement and nothing much has come out of it. Any help?

Thank you Witacha c:

When you move it in edit mode it WILL move in object mode. It's meant to. You simply have to keep moving it around until it aligns. Eventually you get to recognise what direction will move it where in-game... since some armatures, if you're using the pre-made ones, aren't exactly straight forward.

Remember, if, in-game, the item is massive/tiny and white with no material that you've forgotten to Scale + Rotate to ObData. Which is Ctrl+A if I recall correctly.

xD

I guess I'll keep working with it. It works in-game and everything, just not in the right place.

First delete the rose, then "LocZ: 0.503" edit to 0.000
Then append or link the rose and be in edit mode and place your item in the same position of the rose and then delete the rose.

Okay. I restarted because my current .blend file was being mean

And after a couple restarts for size, I got a slightly-off placed banana (ignore the texture, fixing that later)
Spoiler:

And this is what it looks like in Blender:

You will have to move it again until it's in the mouth and as for the texture you should decimate your item it's too high poly.

Okay, I copied the rose's coords exactly (put it into edit and typed what was in its median coords in the banana's coords) and I got this:

I'm confused now xD

Head2 yes. I also tried a wolf head and it doesn't sit in the mouth there either.
