Turning down the overall ambient lighting to allow the sun and other lighting sources to affect the models more than currently.

The two next screenshots have midday sunlight and a bonfire emitting red lighting next to the character

What do Specular, Diffuse and Emissive do exactly?

Baell's Dragon has ambient 0.3 0.3 0.3 to make the glow texture stand out more:

To me, the lighting from the faraway sun in-game shows up on the character models quite nicely as is, and the difference between when the sun is and isn't hitting the model is noticeable. So lighting coming off of close-up objects is going to be powerful as it stands.

I like where this is going, though. Try increasing the ambient a little bit, see what happens. A happy medium between what is already in-game and increasing the contrast a bit more (but not too dramatically) should work out nicely.

Depending on an artistic ideals for a servers theme, darker shading is on plate. I'll have you look up games, only to name a few; Diablo, Infinity Blade, Torchlight, Turok, and alot of UnrealEngine games I can't think of off top. Feel free to Google em. Ps- & yes, these games take part in daytime hours with sun, still the same darkness effect.

Maybe the eyes that have been staring at an unshaded & pretty much "glowing radiant bright" character for too long may find a dark shaded version of the game too much. I find it odd that there seems to be a quo for shading amount of characters, but prey, objects and items don't have such quo. I also find it slightly ridiculously to call a shaded object "sunburnt" ("sun burnt" actually, not one word) when in reality one standing ~right~ next to a fire/glowing orb/crystal/ and what not would indeed have light glowing off their being, that's just logical though.

Anyway once I'm off work, I'll be adding some sexy things to this thread soon ;3 Just had to post this.

Oh yeah I tried 0.5 ambient all round for Baell (minus his eyes)
0.2 made him really really dark.




And then I derped around with Insomnia:
0.1 ambient here, minus teeth and eyes


And then

I think for you don not give problems to KovuLKD or for yourself,
do not use WoW meshes, that meshes have rights and if Blizzard have just a little bit idea you're doing that,
I think they do not gonna like it :3

Well, you can use their models for personal usage and non-profit. It fits under their "Total Conversion" license. :3

What Fagon Star said. And WoW models are allowed to be used because IT is not using them for profit. If IT was making money off them, then there would be issues.

Do some reasearch first before assuming things and saying it isn't okay.

...Also if I recall Infinity made/took a Kingdom Hearts Keyblade and Sora's Necklace also from Kingdom hearts to be used in IT >_> so it's a bit hypocritical of them to be saying that.

If blizzard thinks we're violating something, then they're free to write to make any claims directly to me. My fellow members shouldn't be blamed for it.
